Donations could keep BELIEVE art sculpture on permanent display in Reno

Post Date:07/03/2014 4:11 PM
Those who want to help keep the BELIEVE art sculpture on permanent display in downtown Reno can donate now through the City of Reno’s Charitable Foundation.

The sculpture, part of a 12-foot-tall, steel word series that has become a fixture at the annual Burning Man event, is on temporary display until July 19, 2014 at City Plaza, next to Reno City Hall.

“BELIEVE creates an inspirational community gathering space and photo opportunity, which highlights downtown Reno’s river corridor and our support for local artists and Burning Man,” says Christine Fey, Resource Development and Cultural Affairs Manager for the City of Reno. “Donating to the cause will allow us to keep this inspirational artwork in Reno.”

The City of Reno’s goal is to raise $70,000 — $10,000 per letter — through the Community Foundation of Western Nevada website. To donate, click on “GIVE.” Scroll down the list of funds to “Reno, City of, Charitable Foundation.” Click the “Donate” button. Type “BELIEVE” in the special instructions section on the second page of the PayPal form. Donations are tax-deductible and include a receipt and gift acknowledgement.

A donation can also be made by sending a check made out to CFWN with “BELIEVE” in the memo portion to:
