Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility - E.2 & E.3
Council unanimously approved an Award of Contract to Reno-Tahoe Construction for the Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility (TMWRF) Equalization Basin Re-Lining project in an amount not to exceed $453,321.79, with the City of Reno's share being $311,114.74 from the Sewer Enterprise Fund. Council also unanimously approved a Consulting Agreement with Day Engineering for construction engineering and administration services for the Re-Lining Project in an amount not to exceed $50,600, with the City of Reno’s portion being $34,726.78 from the Sewer Enterprise Fund.
TMWRF is jointly owned by the Cities of Reno and Sparks. The City of Reno oversees the Capital Improvement Program for TMWRF, while the City of Sparks manages operations. The existing liner is about 30 years old; a new lining system is needed for proactive facility rehabilitation and maintenance to ensure reliable containment of wastewater in the basin per State and Federal mandates. This supports Council priority to Provide Efficient and Responsive City Services.
Medical Marijuana Dispensaries - J.2
Council unanimously affirmed prior policy direction regarding medical marijuana dispensaries within the City of Reno. The City has a pending request to the Washoe County Board of County Commissioners to increase the City of Reno’s percentage allocation from 25 percent to 50 percent of the maximum number of dispensaries that may be certified in Washoe County. The number of dispensaries allowed in Washoe County is 10.
