City of Reno invites public to opening of Fire Station 12
The Open House will feature a free pancake breakfast provided by Damonte Ranch Homes. Complimentary balloons, coloring books and fire hats will be given out to children. Guests will have the opportunity to have their photo taken next to a fire truck and take a tour of the facilities.
In addition, the Reno Fire Department will be giving away free ADA-compliant smoke detectors, as well as alarms specially made to alert hearing impaired persons.
“We are looking forward to a great turnout at Saturday’s Open House,” says Fire Chief Michael Hernandez, who recognizes the importance of public safety and the Reno City Council’s priority to Provide Safe and Livable Neighborhoods. “Our department seeks opportunities to engage with the community we protect and to assure our residents that we stand ready to respond to any emergency.”
Perry Di Loreto’s company, Nevada Tri Partners, donated land for the new fire station and was responsible for the design and construction of Fire Station 12. “It's a sincere pleasure to support an event that welcomes the Damonte Ranch neighborhood and the greater Reno community to come out and experience the new station,” Di Loreto says.
The station is located at 1190 Steamboat Parkway in south Reno. Parking will be available in the RC Willey lot across the street. Download the event flier here.
