City of Reno Hosts Olympic Style Games for Senior Citizens

The Reno-Tahoe Senior Summer Games is a program dedicated to promoting and implementing fitness programs and activities for people 50 years and older. The event takes place June 19, 2013 through June 30, 2013. The games offer participants over 20 individual and team competitions. Participants compete within age groups to win gold, silver, and bronze medals. The sports include Archery, Baggo, Badminton, Dance Marathon, Fitness, Go Kart Road Race, Horseshoes, Miniature Golf, Pickleball, Skeet and Trap Shoot, Speed Golf, Swimming, Table Tennis, Track and Field, Walk Race (1M/3M), and Weightlifting. Competitions are grouped into mens, womens, coed, or mixed doubles categories.
The registration fee is $15 and covers the Opening Ceremony Lunch, Closing Ceremony Dance, Water Bottle, T-Shirt, and Tote Bag. There is a $5 per sport fee, which includes multiple events within a sport. Some sports such as Archery and Trap Shooting have additional fees.
